DAY 1: SAIGON - VINH LONG
07:30: Take the car or Get on express boat trip (if available) to Vinh Long, it is amazing trip, you will pass through different views from Vam co dong to the upper and lower Mekong river, along the wide river and small canal as well.
11:00 Arrival in a small village - non touristy town in Vinh Long province, only available at Innoviet. Two hour boat trip around island - You will see the daily activities of the local people along the river, sellers and buyers bargaining and exchanging fish etc. You can observe how people make their living from the fruit trees and river:
- Visit an orchard, taste tropical fruit.
- Visit rice paper making village, where you can also participate in making rice paper.
13:00 Moto boat bring you to the home stay, get acquainted with the family. Here you will have lunch with the host family. Relax.
15:00 Ride your bike (for about two hours) along the village:
Shaded by banana, rabutan, pomelo trees, passing the immense green rice fields and admiring the beautiful scenery. You will see the local children making their way to and from school in their beautiful Ao Dai uniform, visit some houses to meet local people and see their real life and be greeted by their warm welcome in the process.
Get to know about the "same same, but different" trees in the Mekong Delta. You will practice these names & try to guess the names of these trees just by your nose!
17:00 Back to the family, prepare to cook dinner, have dinner.
At night, we row a boat through the canal and witness the fire-flies before retiring for the night to sleep in one of the typical houses of the Mekong Delta.
DAY 2: VINH LONG – SAIGON
07:00 Visit the very off - the - beaten - track floating market village in the early morning and see how people there live and trade. The boat will take us to see some traditional local brick,. You will walk through the fruit gardens and fields, feed the fish and help to cultivate farm products. Then we visit a local temple, and head back to the home stay to join in cooking lunch. You can enjoy your meal, take a rest, and say good bye to host family.
13:30 Car back to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving back InnoViet at 18:00.
