Vietnam Airlines to add more 800 flights for 2009 Lunar New Year

The Vietnam national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines announced it will increase more 832 flights on Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route and Ho Chi Minh City - Danang route within January 10 and February 9, 2009 to meet the increasing travel demand of people during the 2009 Lunar New Year.
Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines will operate more 430 flights on the Hanoi- Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route, with 110,000 seats and its soonest flight will depart at 5 am from Hanoi. 402 flights will be added for the Ho Chi Minh City - Danang - Ho Chi Minh City route, with 73,000 seats and its soonest flight will depart at 5.30 am from Ho Chi Minh City.
Compared to rush hours of the 2008 Lunar New Year, Vietnam will increase transport supply by 33 percent on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route and 36 percent on the Ho Chi Minh City - Danang route.
With this plan, Vietnam Airlines expects to resolve overloaded situation during the Lunar New Year, with the aim of bringing satisfaction and joyfulness for passengers.
