Rocking on Bike: 2 Days Cycling in Mekong Delta

On this journey you will not only cycle along idyllic country roads through verdant rice fields and lush fruit farms, but you will also take local wooden boats along the scenic canals and lively branches of the Mekong River. Visit a local floating market and spending one night with a warm and friendly local home stay family. This tour is truly a remarkable experience.

Total cycling distance: 105 km.

Day 1: Saigon-Tien Giang-Vinh Long (L, D)

7:00 am: Start the trip by car to the Tien Giang province.

09:30 am: Start cycling along certain paths to get insight pineapple plantation,man-made canals and rice fields where you will see farmers crop the land with their rice and pineapple. The cycling is mainly on off roads around 5km  km, which bring you authentic feeling and then we cycle in to the village under the shaded trees.

12:00 pm: Travel by car to Vinh Long. Stop for lunch and relax at a lovely restaurant with lots of delicious traditional cuisine.

1:30 pm: Your private car picks us up from the restaurant and takes you back to your home stay family. You can even choose to cycle back (about 2 h) to get to the home stay which is located on a small island at Vinh Long. Here you will have time to get acquainted with the hosts and take part in a small cooking class. After having dinner, you can relax on the hammocks.

Cycling distance: 55 km.

Day 2: Vinh Long -Long An-Saigon ( B, L,)

6:30 am: Take a boat trip to visit a local floating market to see how the local people live and earn their living on boats. Come back to the home stay family and enjoy your breakfast.

8:00: am: Cycle around the village (about 3 h) and find out more about the lives of the locals people on the island. Then go back to National Highway 1 where your car will picks you up and take you to Tien Giang.

1:00 pm: Eat lunch at a local restaurant and relax.

2:00 pm: A car will pick you up from the restaurant and take you to My Tho. There you continue your cycling trip (about 2 h) to Tan An town. Going throw the extensive and strange-looking Dragon fruit farms will be a memorable experience.

5:00 pm: Take a car back to the Innoviet Office at 203 Pham Ngu Lao or your hotel.

6:30 pm: The end of the trip
